Christine Hauber

The current that underlies my work is the concept of serenity in a world of chaos. I am attracted to the simplicity of the minimal and I make every effort to be a faithful visual recorder of the world around me. I wish for my images to distill scenes ranging from the ephemeral to the eternal, from the abstruse to the symbolic. As a dedicated artist, I strive constantly to explore and expand my definition of the splendor and mysterious in life and nature. My images have an ethereal and enduring quality.

My love of black and white photography began primarily from my love of the dramatic scenes I could capture with the film and by printing in the traditional darkroom. I was then drawn to infrared film, a film that accentuates to an even greater degree the dramatic aspects of earth and sky. My work has grown to include digital technology so that I can offer large format fine art photographs that are as beautiful as the photographs I print in my traditional darkroom.

In addition to traditional silver gelatin photographs, canvas photographs and photographs printed on aluminum, I also offer one-of-a-kind mixed media pieces. My imagery along with my mixed media art pieces set me apart from all other photographers. Each piece is an original and thus no two will ever be alike. Commissions are accepted.
