Scott Lyon

Scott Lyon creates quiet labyrinths of surreal visions suspended behind glass. His shadow boxes tell stories and secrets. He’s a sphinx of magical capers, a riotous entertainer, a collector of abandoned treasures brought back to life.

Scott discovered this unexplored medium 30 years ago while attending art school. A book found in the art library about the artist Joseph Cornell started his work.
Cornell crafted boxed assemblages of astounding mystery and beauty. Recognizing the intriguing possibilities, Scott began a life of shadow boxes!

Each box is finely crafted with passionate attention to design and detail. A captured three-dimensional stage exploring lost narratives, illusions and memories. The results intensely captivate and swirl reality and dreams into a make-believe universe. Scott currently lives and works in Santa Fe.
