As far back as I can remember, I was fascinated by drawing and painting. When I was 12, my family moved from St. Louis, MO, to Taos, NM, where my parents opened a small restaurant. Artists who ate there gave me art lessons in exchange for free meals. I began formal studies with well-known Taos artists and won a scholarship to the summer art institute at the University of Kansas.

My family moved to Santa Fe in 1958, and I’ve lived nearby ever since. I was a Human Resources manager for many years while continuing to paint and study art. I began painting full time and exhibiting my work in 2000. I’ve been represented by galleries, gift shops and poster shops. My paintings have been reproduced on the covers of catalogs, in calendars and on a music CD as well as nationally distributed holiday cards. I’ve shown in juried art shows all over the West and have received many awards for my art.

Most of my oil paintings depict the dramatic scenery of Northern New Mexico during all four seasons of the year. This is the world I live in and the one I know. Regardless of the subject matter, my goal is always to capture the light that is so unique to the higher desert and mountains of this beautiful area.
