I grew up in Grand Haven, Michigan, a small town along the coast of Lake Michigan. I spent much of my childhood exploring the woods in the heart of Midwest America’s blueberry country. I had a wonderful childhood with my two older brothers, parents, and my grandmother. I give much credit to the type of documentary photographer and the person I am today to the memories and experiences I had throughout my childhood.

My love of history began at an early age, my love of photography much later in life. At Grand Valley State University, I took my first photography class and went instantly from being a possible history major to a photography major. It made sense; I could blend my love of history, my personal view of the world around me, and artistic expression. I graduated in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts in Photography and shortly thereafter moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico. I began to pursue my fine art photography career and in 2010 jointly started a fine art print shop, High Desert Arts, LLC.

I photograph with a 1970’s medium-format film camera, which I find rather fitting, that I use an old and forgotten thing, to photograph old and forgotten things. I spend much of my time showing with the Santa Fe Society of Artists, and exploring the American Southwest in hopes of finding a new photograph. In my spare time I enjoy backpacking in the beautiful mountains of New Mexico with my husband Tony and our two dogs.
