Roy McKeag was born in 1941. The first 35mm camera was a fixed lens rangefinder in 1963 while in the U.S. Army, and the first darkroom was set up in 1966. It was the regular path of starting with 35mm black and white film and prints, gradually adding color, medium format, and then 4×5. The full time job was working in public health for the State of New Mexico – mostly on the environmental side. Starting in 1991 photography became the major focus. The conversion to digital began in 1993 with Adobe Photoshop 2.5, and the last chemical prints were made in 1998. Digital cameras replaced film in 2000.
