I live in a canyon just outside of Santa Fe, in a lovely, rustic cabin, I’m lucky enough to hear myriad birds by day and coyotes by night. I have always drawn and painted, but got focused and persistent about creating this body of work around 2016.
Trees, birds and sky are the poetic language of the earth, The beauty of nature and human kindness are two things I deeply value.
A nest represents home for me–where we live our lives and raise the fledglings: our ideas, relationships and children–as well as out ultimate home, the earth. Our earth is simultaneously kind and cruel, minute and vast, fierce and fragile, yet she is always our home.
My hope is that my paintings inspire us to act with more kindness towards the earth and each other.
Watercolors are painted on 140 lb Arches paper, while the oils are painted on stretched, cotton canvas. All using professional grade pigments.
